Presentation description
The nature of design
David Orr, chair of environmental studies at Oberlin College, is both a philosopher and educator who teaches us to look at human design in radically new ways. In his book, The Nature of Design, he shows how most of our ecological problems result from design failures and makes an eloquent and passionate plea for design in more appropriate and responsible ways. A proponent of educational reform, he will address issues in his talk that affect both designers and design educators as well as the overall role design must play in the 21st century.
