The Power of Design: AIGA National Design Conference

October 23?26, 2003
Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre
Vancouver, British Columbia

"The Power of Design: AIGA National Design Conference" will focus on the extraordinary opportunities for designing in the 21st century. Designers will play critical roles in the success of our rebounding economy?both as agents of social change in a complex world and as leading architects of sustainable solutions for a troubled planet. The conference will include speakers from diverse disciplines who work in a variety of media and will speak on the three platforms underpinning the conference theme: economy, environment and culture. The preliminary speaker list includes David Orr, Fritjof Capra and John Todd.

Sponsorship fees are listed below. Benefits, which vary by level, include logo or name identification in conference promotional materials (materials, ads and posters), extensive on-site recognition, on-site display space, distribution of corporate promotional materials, and the opportunity to host a variety of AIGA-planned and corporate-themed receptions for conference attendees.

* Major Sponsorship - $13,125
* Sponsorship - $7,125
* Larger booth sizes for Major Sponsors - $4,000 per additional 10x10
* Larger booth sizes for Sponsors - $5,000 per additional 10x10

The conference venue is the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre, in Vancouver, British Columbia.

We are expecting approximately 1,500 to 2,000 designers, predominantly from the U.S., but including Canadian designers as well.

This will not be your ordinary tradeshow. Based on the feedback from both attendees and sponsors, we are designing this year's Design Fair to be the cultural and social hub of the entire conference. We have worked with the show management company, Levy Show Services, to develop a nontraditional booth layout that will allow for maximum traffic flow for all sponsors. The Design Fair will accommodate nontraditional offerings such as coffee bars, performance spaces, conversation areas, an e-lounge, a bookstore and more. The unique floor plan should also result in more equality of booth exposure.

As in years past, there are three sizes of booths: 10' by 10', 10' by 20' and 20' by 20'. The largest 20' by 20', are reserved for our national sponsors. The basic sponsorship packages for general and major sponsorship include a standard 10' by 10' booth. Upgrades to the 10' by 20' booth are available to general sponsors for $5,000 and to major sponsors for $4,000.

Sponsorship inquiries should be directed to Jennifer Phillips at 212 807 1990, x250.
